Remember, adults should have an eye health exam once every 1 to 2 years to monitor for risk factors for eye disease, even if there are no vision problems. Children should have their first eye exam at 6 months, again at age 3 and every year thereafter until adulthood. Seniors and adults over 50 should have annual exams to check for eye diseases such as cataracts and glaucoma, which tend to become more prevalent with age. Contact lens patients should also have annual exams to ensure that there are no complications associated with lens wear, especially in our dry Calgary climate. With rapidly changing technology, annual exams also allow us to put you in the latest technology products that may be best for you.
